Music Recording

The Music Recording certificate is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn the skills involved with recording and editing music. Aimed at individuals interested in building their own home studios or seeking the skills required of entry-level interns in the field of music engineering, this two semester program covers the nuts and bolts of multi-track recording, digital audio workstations and an overview of live sound. In addition, students learn basic piano skills for MIDI input/editing, fundamentals of music theory for more effective communication with recording artists and the essentials of the music business as needed for managing.
